How to book an event photographer
Engaging a photographer isn’t an everyday occurrence for many clients so we are often asked similar questions about the photography process.
To help you understand a little more about working with a photographer we have answered some of the most frequently asked questions. If we haven’t answered yours, please feel free to get in touch!
What type of events do you photograph in Melbourne?
Simon and his team at Man With A Camera Photography shoot business and corporate events; expos, exhibitions and conferences; media calls, activations and product launches.
We have also photographed the unit stills on several large BBC television productions, including Top Gear (UK).
How much does an event photographer cost?
Event photographers in Melbourne usually cost between $350 – $500 per hour, depending on the type of event, duration of event, number of guests, end use of images
When requesting an event photography quote, give your photographer the following information:
- Date & time of the event
- Type of event eg. awards, corporate networking, conference, team building event
- A schedule if you have one (we like information!)
- Number of guests attending
- Proposed use of photos ie. sharing on social media, EDM, internal use, record of the event
- Approximate number of photos required
- Specific shots or general event photos
- Any set ups or shots that may require off camera lighting or an assistant
- Deadline to receive images
Larger events may require an assistant or a second photographer, but we’d be pleased to discuss this with you when calculating our quote.
Do you also photograph headshots?
Yes! We can also photograph your business and corporate headshots. These are treated as standalone bookings and not part of an event photography booking.
By all means, we can photograph them at the same time as your event utilising a second photographer or visit you another day at your place of business.
We find that photographing headshots separately to an event is usually preferable to ensure that both are photographed well and to our usual high standards.
How much are corporate headshots?
Prices for headshots start at $395 for up to two people. This gives you 2 retouched images in both high and low resolution, ready for your linkedin profile.
How do you supply the event photos?
Your photos are delivered either via an emailed download link or on USB which is mailed or couriered to you.
We are also able to provide an online viewing gallery for you to share with your clients for a small fee.
