Template for Creating an Event Photography Brief
We’re often asked by clients for help on writing a brief for their event photographers so have created a basic template which you may find helpful when considering what details your photographer may need prior to an event.
Some clients provide the run-sheet for the event as well as the brief, listing key contacts, bump-in times, schedule for the event and plenty more information. Usually much of this information is surplus to the photographers requirements to perform their event photography duties but as experienced photographers, we know that too much information is better than no information! If it’s a large conference or expo, maps of the venue are useful, as well as a list of any key people that need to be photographed.
We usually know what needs photographing at an event, conference or expo but to avoid any disappointment we’re happy to receive a shot list of key participants that you would like photographed.
We’ve provided the template below as a starting point for our clients to use. If you have additional information such as run-sheets, venue maps or must-have lists of key people, they may also be provided prior to your event to make sure the photography runs smoothly.
