We’ve been big fans of renewable energy for many years; even before we put the solar panels on our home and the power company started paying US!

We can either dig coal out the ground and burn it, OR we could throw up a few windmills, and pop some solar panels in a large space, and after the initial large up front cost, sit back and enjoy the lower cost/free power.

Sure, I’ve simplified things, but anyone who hasn’t seen renewables on the horizon for the last 10 years really has to give their spectacles a clean!  It always amuses me that my grey and rainy motherland (UK) generates more solar energy than the whole of Australia.   Yeah, I can’t fathom it either.

So, with a personal interest in renewable energy, we were pleased to be able to photograph the Renewable Energy Careers Expo held in Melbourne recently.

Running alongside the enormous All-Energy Exhibition and Conference held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and with a welcome from the Clean Energy Council CEO, Kane Thornton, the event was well attended by hundreds of graduates and students.

It was also good to see that it seemed to have an even mix of male and female participants

It’s always great to mix our Melbourne event photography with personal interests so please do get in touch if you are planning an event related to renewable energy or similar areas with an environmental element.
