One event that my inner child and Lego nerd hopes that I get to photograph in 2020, is Brickvention.

Held at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton Gardens, Brickvention attracts thousands of Lego fans over the two days that it is open to the public.

This year, one of my favourite attractions was the Lego mini figure swap wall, which is exactly what it sounds like! You take along one of your mini figures that you no longer want and swap it for one that you find on the wall.

Whichever flavour of Lego you love or identify with, you’re sure to find something that suits. Harry Potter, basketball players, Ninjago, Star Wars, Lego friends, and even vintage mini figures were all there in large numbers.
Judging by how much I loved it as an adult, the younger version of me would have exploded with joy over it!

There is also an extensive market section which was fun to browse and left me daydreaming about how much all my childhood Lego sets would be worth if I still had all the pieces, along with the boxes and instructions! Oh well, it’s a toy after all and I know that I had hours and hours of enjoyment playing with it.

The next Brickvention event is scheduled for January 18 and 19, 2020. Come and say hello if you see me there photographing the event.
