Pictured is Melbourne Premier Denis Napthine speaking at the sod turning for the new $250 million Monash Children’s Hospital in Clayton today.

Expected to be completed by 2016, the dedicated facility is going to offer 230 beds and several state of the art facilities for both patients and families.

It was a really enjoyable and friendly event to photograph and one of the most upbeat media launches I’ve been to in ages. It’s good to see the pollies being real people and showing some emotion as Denis did when speaking about some of the children who would perhaps benefit from this new facility.
